Readership,
I apologise but the usual commentary article that I write on Wednesdays will not be up as usual today. I try to keep this as regular as possible but sometimes this is difficult; I am studying after all, as well as holding down a job. It’s a shame because I had a really good idea for an article this week.
This is entirely because I was watching DiEM25’s 3 hour live-stream, launching the movement. I thought it was really interesting, and a good basis for the future of a real movement to retake European democracy. Not too much substance, but for a first meeting it’s about political will and ideas, I think. I encourage all of you who didn’t watch it to take a look on Youtube, on which the entire stream is uploaded. Just look up DiEM25’s Youtube page.
Anyway, seeing as I haven’t written anything for today, I intend to have today’s article up by tomorrow, and of course normal service on Friday. If I find a spare moment, I want to write either an actual analysis of the DiEM25 group, both its manifesto and launch at the Volksbühne, or a report on a talk I visited on illiberal democracy in Eastern Europe.
Regardless of which way I go, you can rest assured that there’ll be more articles on the HP in due course. Once again, sincere apologies for the delay in articles, but this will happen right?
Stay informed.
Your writer,
Sam Hufton
